Born and raised in the Youngstown, Ohio area Matthew lived and worked for many years throughout the country before ultimately coming back “home” in 2009. Formally trained as a commercial real estate investment advisor in Tampa Bay, he was part of a select team involved in over $750 million of commercial assets transacted between 2004 - 2008. Prior to this, Matthew held a senior management position in Washington Mutual Bank’s 1031 Exchange department, heading their Southeastern U.S. division also based out of Tampa Bay.
More recently, Matthew has started and managed two new companies here in Youngstown. He is the president of Valley Investment Group, LLC a local real estate investment firm as well as CEO of Lower Your Taxes, LLC a regional company that provides assistance to property owners with appeal their property valuations before their local county board in order to lower each properties annual real estate property taxes.

A life-long resident of the Mahoning Valley, Katie Olson graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, received an endorsement in Educational Technology, and then a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.
